A Third Generation Grower

JLPN is a third-generation grower, family seedling operation owned and operated by John and Crystal Lewis. JLPN was formed as an off-shoot of Lew’s Lakeshore Nursery in the year 2000. Until then, LLN was strictly a bare root seedling grower dating back to the 1960’s.  Bill Lewis (Father) had the vision and saw a need for seedlings with greater durability and higher quality standards than could be produced in the field. With that, he helped John build and form JLPN. What started off as a small container seedling production of 20,000 sq. ft. of greenhouse, over time, expanded into a 300,000 sq. ft. greenhouse growing facility, on 110 acres of land.

From the onset, JLPN has produced deciduous seedlings in the Anderson Band Pot and in the summer, softwood rooted cuttings of deciduous shade tree cultivars. However, growing bare root seedlings for the shade, fruit, flowering and ornamental market is still a large percentage of our focus. Our facility and our fields are kept clean and sterile with regular soil fumigation every three years and strict cleanliness practices.

JLPN is a LEAN focused nursery, always striving to create a product that has increased value to the consumer. Our growing methods are constantly being groomed and tweaked to keep up with the needs and demands of the ever-changing market. Tours are welcomed and encouraged, so growers can see the uniformity, consistency and value-added product that we produce on an annual basis. Our customers range from the $1000 minimum order, up to full semi-truck loads of liner material to be shipped both nationally and internationally.

We look forward to being an integral component to the success of your growing venture.
